The Colt45 is the board to ride when you want to rip like your riding your standard shortboard, but in waves that are sub par conditions.  It is a step down from the Pirate Hooker, designed for high performance surfing in smaller weaker surf.  It has a lower rocker throughout, with a touch of flip off the tail, this combined with the hip in the tail allows the Colt45 to have a tight turning radius in the pocket, with release and pop off the lip.  The speed comes from a  generous single concave and double concave between the fins.  You want to ride the Colt45 anywhere from 2-4 inches shorter than your standard shortboard.
